If you found that your R (resource) generated class in Android project have errors you will want to force Eclipse to rebuild that class. To force Eclipse to rebuild generated resource class (R), you just need to click on Project->Clean menu, and then select which projects you want to clean.

In my case rebuilding generated class did not helped because there was error in my XML layout file and class again had the same error. So if you ever have error in your R (resource) generated class, it is better to first check your error log and find where in the layout or resource files you have error. Usual error is wrongly named resource id of control. After you fix that error and save changes error in R class will usually disappear.

is it possible that you don't have any active image?
You must have working image to have items enabled.

I'm using 2.8.14 and copied script to folder that described in pdf document. Save Android Icons menu item appeared in right place but it disabled. Any workaround?

Re: GIMP script for creating Android icons at once
Sorry for spamming J

skipped it at first, but then found in one of the comments above a link to a github repository with the code. Have contributed with this pull request. Please see it for a small bugfix to my original post above (missing python import will crash the code if the directories exist). Plus the windows compatibility issue by using a platform dependent DIR-SEPARATOR.

Re: GIMP script for creating Android icons at once

would you consider merging with this opensource script to have the two great extensions in one place?
